Embracing Change: A Yoga Journey to Spring Renewal

Change is the only constant in life. Just as the seasons shift, so too do we—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Yet, as humans, we often resist change, clinging to what feels safe and familiar. But what if, instead of resisting, we allowed change to move through us with grace?
Spring is a season of transformation. The earth awakens from its winter slumber, buds bloom, and the energy around us begins to rise. It’s nature’s way of reminding us that growth is inevitable, and that renewal is always within reach. When we embrace change instead of fighting it, we open ourselves to new possibilities, fresh perspectives, and the vibrant energy that comes with new beginnings.
Yoga: A Practice of Surrender and Renewal
Yoga teaches us to move with life’s natural rhythms rather than against them. Through breathwork, kriyas, pranayama, flowing movement, and meditation, we can release stagnation, clear energetic blockages, and cultivate a sense of trust in the unfolding of life.
Each inhale is an invitation to welcome the new. Each exhale is a reminder to let go. As we step onto the mat, we practice the art of non-resistance—allowing ourselves to be present with whatever arises, whether it’s discomfort, excitement, or uncertainty.
Yoga Practices to Support Change and Renewal
Breathwork & Kriyas to Clear and Energise
• Breath of Fire (Kapalabhati-Skull-Shining Breath): Helps clear mental fog, increase vitality, and ignite the inner fire of transformation.
• Blooming Lotus (New beginnings): Assists in creating the vision you have for your life.
• Spinal Breath: Allows the energy to flow-out with the negative and in with the positive
We practice all three of these kriyas regularly in my online yoga classes. Try a class here
Flowing Yoga to Move with Change
A dynamic sequence of heart-openers, hip releases, and grounding postures mirrors the ebb and flow of life. Through movement, we practice fluidity—learning to trust, adapt, and embrace change with openness.
Meditation & Intention Setting
Stillness allows us to listen. Through meditation, we tune into what we’re ready to welcome in and what we need to release. Journaling or silent reflection after meditation can help set clear, heart-centered intentions for the season ahead.
